Today, I submitted the Scene of Eloise to the Las Laguna Art Gallery for the black, white, and grey show. The show takes place in January. I priced it for $7000. It is my first black and white, so it is an original piece. If someone wants to pay that price, then I have an art collector on my hands. "The Scene of Eloise"11x14 canvas

The mountains in Celerey's painting are better than those in Celeste's. Celeste's Painting Celerey's Painting
Today, Thanksgiving 2023, I gave a painting to a friend's mom. I brought over a selection for her to choose from. I didn't realize that glitter had inadvertently gotten on the artwork. When you set the painting in the light, it looked like stars were in the sky and reflected in the shoreline.
As I stated from the beginning, this blog will be going back and forth; here is the painting I created on October 29, 2023, exactly one year after I started to paint.
Life is like a lemon tree; it can produce fruit, yet not all people prefer to have lemons in their lives. You can make many beautiful things out of lemons; my favorite is strawberry lemonade; you can also make lemon cake, muffins, and margarine pie. However, when you get a text from a family member learning that their 6-year-old is on their way to a children's hospital because the local doctors think he has Leukimia and the family needs to do more tests, those are the lemons that are sour and bitter. That is the lemon a person would prefer not to have.
We should look at our lives and find all we should be grateful for. Thanksgiving is tomorrow. One of the many things I am grateful for is the time and opportunity I have to paint. Here is #2 on the 12x16 canvas. Painted by guest painter Celeste It has been quite some time since I last painted. I started to paint black and white to submit to the next show at the Las Laguna Art Gallery. However, I am not a fan of the black and white paintings. Today, I will be painting my first 12x16 canvas. The size is what I want to paint from here on out. Today was also my first time painting in my new studio. My studio is still a pop-up tent, now an 8x8 space instead of a 3x4 space. I also have more room above me. It is spacious and keeps the weather from restricting my painting opportunities. Video of OLD studio Video of NEW studio Here is 12x16 canvas painting #1
Celerey's JourneyI started painting on October 29, 2023. My very first painting was a disaster. I bought the cheap paints and brushes. The oil paint was too thin, so the colors just mixed. In December 2023, I gave this painting to one of my writing students. I regret that decision; I even contacted the parents to see if their son or daughter had the painting in their possession. I am still looking for it. Before she was famous |
