With the use of The New Phonics Game, children are taught to look for letter patterns in words to help decode the sounds.
This is then reinforced with the prompt card where the child repeats the letter pattern that makes a specific sound.
For example Deck 10  teaches
any time you see the spelling patterns cy-ci-ce the "C" makes the "soft "sound as in the word Center.
