This class is primarily a creative/journal writing class. Each week a new prompt is given. Brainstorming and discussion is done in class. They are to complete their stories, sentences or words at home each week. I recommend that they write at least 5-7 sentences each week. If they are writing stories I recommend that they write 1-3 stories each week. If they are only writing words, I recommend that they write 5-7 words a day.
The worksheets below are for light structure as to what a story should look like. Or what a complete sentence looks like. If anything I recommend they take a story change the names of the characters, the setting and create their own story from that. These worksheets are also for you to us as part of your packet you turn into your ES each month. OR when ever it is that you meet.
If you child is just beginning I recommend starting with the 2nd grade worksheets. That way they build a solid foundation. Yes! I recommend this even if your child is in the 6th grad
